Your Right to Delete
You have the right to request deletion of your personal data and health information from myCARI. This right is protected under:
- HIPAA - Right to request restrictions on PHI
- CCPA - California Consumer Privacy Act right to delete
- GDPR - General Data Protection Regulation right to erasure
- Apple App Store Requirements - Account deletion requirement
How to Request Deletion
Option 1: In-App (Recommended)
The fastest and most secure way to delete your account:
- Open the myCARI app
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Confirm your identity (Face ID, Touch ID, or password)
- Read the deletion summary
- Type "DELETE" to confirm
- Tap Delete My Account
Processing Time: Account deletion begins immediately. Full removal within 30 days.
Option 2: Email Request
Send an email to privacy@mlpipes.ai with:
Subject: Data Deletion Request
Include:
- Your registered email address
- Confirmation that you want your account and all data deleted
- Reason for deletion (optional, helps us improve)
Verification: We will send a verification email to confirm your identity before processing.
Processing Time: Within 30 days of verified request.
Option 3: Web Portal
If you have access to the account management portal:
- Log in to account.carihealth.ai
- Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete Account
- Follow the verification prompts
- Confirm deletion

What We Must Retain
Certain data may be retained as required by law, even after account deletion:

Note: Retained data is kept securely and is not used for any purpose other than legal compliance.
Before You Delete
Please consider the following before deleting your account:
You Will Lose Access To:
- All health data stored in myCARI
- Your medical timeline and history
- Medication records and reminder history
- All vitals and health trends
- Imported healthcare provider records
- AI health insights and recommendations
- Meal tracking history and nutrition data
- Care team connections and shared data
- Messages with care team members
This Cannot Be Undone
Account deletion is permanent. We cannot recover your data after deletion is complete. Please ensure you:
- Export your data before deleting (Settings → Privacy → Export Data)
- Notify care team members that they will lose access
- Save any important information you may need
Alternatives to Deletion
If you're experiencing issues, consider these alternatives:

Impact on Care Team
When you delete your account:

To request a refund for recent charges, contact Apple Support directly (subscriptions are managed through the App Store).
Verification Requirements
To protect your account from unauthorized deletion, we verify your identity:
In-App Deletion
- Biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID) or password required
- Confirmation code may be required
Email Deletion Request
- Request must come from your registered email address
- We send a verification link to confirm
- Link expires in 24 hours
Additional Verification (If Needed)
For accounts with sensitive data or unusual activity, we may require:
- Answers to security questions
- Government ID verification
- Phone verification
Processing Confirmation
After your deletion request is processed:
- Confirmation Email - Sent to your registered email confirming deletion
- Timeline - Full deletion completed within 30 days (backups within 90 days)
- No Further Contact - You will not receive marketing or app communications
